The Cold War: Update and Conclusion

I WON.

Though it really doesn't matter much now, my neighbor moved out this weekend. Took his unauthorized fleabag cat and the cigarette stench coming through the bathroom fans with him.

Of course, now *I'm* moving at the end of the month too, which means that although I may have won the war, in the end, nobody really won.

Deep.

Just wanted to give a shout to my friend Lindsey from Oklahoma too. I noticed she's been posting some comments on my blog, so I'm going to post a link in my sidebar to the one she's maintaining for her and her son. We've known each other since like, second or third grade and reconnected when we had our high school reunion in August. She has a really cool photo tour of the Bricktown district in downtown OKC too.

Good friends are rare, lifelong friends are a miracle.

Holidays and a New Year

Wow, it's really starting to get longer and longer between these posts. I'm actually starting to think about letting the domain go at the end of the year. I'm really not sure how many people actually come across this page on a regular basis enough to justify hogging the domain, plus it'd save me a whopping $6.99 a month. Oh well. We'll see in a few months.

Anyway, back on topic. I spent Thanksgiving in Olathe with my parents whilst my sister and brother in law went to Chicago to do some Christmas shopping. Good times and good food, sounds like an old McDonald's commercial, but it's true! I didn't really get to see too many people and friends outside of church, but I'm really not sure how many people know I'm still alive out there anyway, so it's alright.

I spent Christmas in Nauvoo with the whole family. Good times again, especially with the whole story of how my brother in law purchased a new TV to surprise my sister, then the UPS driver spilled the beans to her over at the visitor's center. "OH! I must have delivered that new TV to your house this morning!" Way to go, UPS!!

Then I'm spending today here in the Bluff. Even though I was with Jen, it still felt kind of lonely, and that wasn't entirely fair to her. It's the first New Year's since I graduated from college that I haven't gone out with friends or gathered at one of their houses. It's been almost a year since I moved from Kansas City and it just feels like I've dropped off the map. I just wonder if anyone back home remembers that I'm down here. I just wonder where home is anymore.
